The best you!

What is your best you?

What if you weren’t afraid? What if let yourself DREAM BIG? What if you were able to take the leap and find the version of you that somehow somewhere you know exists? Wouldn’t that be amazing? What would it take? What are you willing to do? To find out? To face? To learn about yourself? To explore and understand, and then move out of that comfort zone into some new place in your life? What would that be like?

I think we spend a lot of time making decisions out of fear. What if we weren’t afraid? I have a good friend who sent me a little plaque to hang on my wall, at one of the toughest times in my life. I read it every day, sometimes twenty times, because there was so little hope inside of me, so little belief in who I was or that I could be okay. But she knew something that I didn’t and I don’t think she knows how big of an impact that little plaque had on my life all those years ago (and still does today!). Here is what it said (from Winnie the Pooh!):

There is something you must always remember…..

You are braver than you believe,

Stronger than you seem,

And smarter than you think.

Sometimes the voices in our head are wrong. Sometimes they are voices from people who didn’t understand us, or who had their own fears, or who were hurt or in their own pain. What if we started hearing other voices? Voices of people who believe in us, voices of people who can see our strengths even when we can’t. What if we let them in, hear them? Believe them? What would happen??

Another friend of mine shared a Facebook

post with me. It said:

Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the thinkers and the believers.

But most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness in you, even when you don’t see it in yourself.

I am thankful for those people. Who showed up at the exact right time, with the exact thing I needed to hear. And for the other people, who kept showing up, even when they didn’t know the right thing to say or do but were able to stay with me as I figured it out. Being vulnerable is hard! Letting those people in can be really tough-but if you can-let them! Let them in, share your struggles, listen to the ones who see your strengths.

Sometimes we need help. Sometimes we need someone else to be kind, or challenge us, or walk along side us as we navigate this thing called life. It isn’t easy.. And really, I don’t think the goal is for it to be easy. Easy would mean not growing, not challenging or learning, or connecting to others. And without those things-what is the point, really? So, in the words of my boot camp coach from Life Purpose Boot Camp, DREAM BIG, girl! What if you did too? Share your dream-put it out there. Because you only get this one life. Why not listen to the voices that tell you, that you can? That you are worth it! That you have value, regardless if you make mistakes? What if you took a chance on you being your best you? Because you know, you are the only one you out there.

Thanks for reading my post. If you want to share your dream-I would love to hear it!
